These schools are a post-secondary alternative to pursuing college or university. Trade schools usually have programs that take between one and two years to complete. The primary focus of these programs is to teach the necessary job skills. Most trade schools are private schools.
Two-Year School: is a type of trade school offering a two-year course that is generally the equivalent of the first two years of a four-year undergraduate degree program. While two-year colleges and community colleges offer similar educational programs, there are some differences between the two. Typically, vocational schools classify themselves as two-year schools. Although community colleges may offer vocational programs they are not considered vocational schools. Usually vocational schools offer a range of specific programs like dental assistance, medical billing, auto mechanics and real estate. Which are geared toward obtaining skills for a specific career path.
